Our Team
Per Lofberg
Per is President and CEO of Merck Capital Ventures, L.L.C. and is
responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Company. Per was formerly
Chairman of Medco Health and led its transformation into a leader in
prescription drug benefits, the world's largest online pharmacy and an
important nexus of connectivity among doctors, patients and insurers.
Jim Cooper
Jim is responsible for the legal and contractual aspects of Merck
Capital Ventures business arrangements. Additionally, he is responsible for
the review of investment opportunities and the identification of new
investment areas. Jim brings a deep set of experiences in the PBM and
Health care areas. He constructed most of the early business contracts for
Medco Health and helped create and lead Medco's Legal Department.
Gary Lubin
Gary is responsible for the
identification and review of investment opportunities for Merck Capital
Ventures, coordination of work between Merck Capital Ventures and various
Merck business units, and helps manage MCV’s portfolio. He most
recently held the position of Vice President of Medco Health's E-Business
Department. Architected Medco's current sales systems and led Merck’s
reengineering and redesign of the company's worldwide core financial
process.
Jeff Tarlowe
Jeff's is responsible for developing financial models to identify and
evaluate interesting, early-stage companies, conducting the financial
analysis and leading the due diligence on all prospective financial
investments. In addition, Jeff monitors and reports on the financial
performance of MCV and its portfolio companies. He most recently held the position
of Vice President-Financial Evaluations at Medco Health, and positions of
increasing responsibility in Merck's Finance Department including Director
Public Policy and Financial Planning and Director of Treasury Planning.
